I have blogged about our neighbor Hornblower before. I heart them so!
Are you looking for something a little different come happy hour time? Hornblower has it. They call it Sights & Sips Sunset Cruises. I had the privlege of boarding the Hornblower Sunset Cruise this past Friday. I was not disappointed! They greet you with a glass of champagne. Yes, please! They had fun upbeat music playing throughout the boat. Made the atmosphere very festive. I meant to take a video so you could hear the music in the background. You will have to use your imagination! The cruise has a plethora of appetizers: veggies, chips, breadsticks, chili cheese Fritos (my personal favorite. ha!) They also had people walking around with trays that included shrimp cocktail shooters, veggie egg rolls with a delicious dipping sauce, gourmet corn dogs and for dessert... chocolate covered strawberries and cookies! They have two cash bars with very friendly bartenders! I partook in their Big Bay Raspberry Press. It was YUM. Several specialty drinks to choose from. Loved the names of the cocktails! And of course the main event... the views! And even though the dreaded June Gloom was in full effect, we did get a glimpse of a sunset... Everyone on the boat was nice, accommodating and oh so very friendly. After a long work week this was an awesome way to unwind. I would recommend it. Get all the details on Hornblower's site. A fun thing to do with friends or your significant other. And while the food was good it did not fill you up... so head on over to Seaport Village after and partake in a nice dinner overlooking the bay you just cruised on. Oh, how nice to be neighbors! Let the Happy Hour roll, Boardwalk Betty PS- I would like to point out that I walked from Seaport Village to the Hornblower, short 5 minute walk. Dyed in Beer, Wine and Chocolate
I have long contended that Seaport Village is the ultimate gift giving shopping experience. People may say we just carry souvenirs, if you will. But I challenge you to look beyond and really dive in. We have some great gift giving options. I have showed you many examples, here and here and HERE! And today, I will once again blow your mind with a great gift giving idea.
I sometimes hear, "Seaport Village is a bunch of t-shirt shops." Um, not true! In fact, we only have 2 stores that are designated to sell t-shirts. And they are quality, and well thought out shirts! Let me introduce Crazy Shirts. You may be familiar with them. They are a national chain. And actually one of the few national chains we have here in the Village. I walked in today and picked out 3 cute gift giving options with ease! Does your mom or your brother or your teacher loooooove the sweet decadence of chocolate? Crazy Shirts carries shirts dyed in chocolate! True story. And they are cute! Perfect for the chocolate lover in your life. After you buy the shirt they even wrap it up in a creative and cute bag to look like a bag of chocolate! And what about for that wine lover in your life? They have shirts that have been dipped and dyed in wine of course. With cute wrapping to boot! And we cannot forget our beer lovers. And while we have the ultimate store for beer lovers here in the Village. Crazy Shirts shows the beer lovers some affection too. These shirts have been... you guessed it... dipped and dyed with beer. See? Cute! Fun! Thoughtful! Funny! I can't think of another great adjective to describe a well thought out gift. Crazy Shirts has two locations in the Village so whatever side of the Village you are on you will be able to pop in and check out their "crazy" selection. Dyed in love, Boardwalk Betty We love our visitors
The people who visit us here at Seaport Village are the best, they are just the best! Recently I recieved this great email from one of our guests. This email just confirms what a great area Seaport Village is situated in (so much to do around here people!) We are lucky to have such fantastic parnters all around. I also love the fact that she visited us in the evening... so many people
forget. We are open until 10 right now! And she is so kind that I just have to share.
Our trip to San Diego was great, too short of course. We found a new pleasure which was wandering around Seaport Village at night time. I do not like driving at night time so because we have never stayed at Seaport before I have not seen it often at night time as I am nervous about driving on unfamiliar freeways in the dark. (I did do it last Christmas, but it was scary) Anyway our warm relaxing nights will be burned in my memory for ever. Just sitting watching people shopping and also relaxing was so great , Max was the only thing we missed! (oh and the big art gallery I didn't see it) The weather was so nice and warm so the ice-cream coupons were perfect as a night time snack or dessert after a great lunch. As a single Mom , and a school nurse we are not exactly the Hyatt's usual guests, but if I can swing it again I will want to stay in this area. We walked to the Gaslamp Quarter for meals a few times and walked down to the Harbour Cruise and ate inside at Anthony's, so this was a great new area to stay at, although we visited Old Town each day too! And of course had to make our usual trip to Target and Mimi's in Mission Valley :)))). And were happy to celebrate our favorite bridge's 40th birthday by spending a few hours on the beach in Coronado.
